The Opportunity
We are looking for an experienced Senior Electrical Engineering Team Lead to join our team of product developers and robot enthusiasts. We develop competitive product offerings for our customers that rely on deeply integrated and complex electronic systems. The electrical engineering team and its team lead closely collaborate with specialists from the R&D and software development group in order to evaluate, implement, test and support the product development process and the portfolio outcome. Furthermore, we are in continuous exchange with our operations group to secure the product target costs and quality standards as ONE TEAM. This renders our robots more nimble, robust and user friendly, and ensures new ways to optimize the performance and skills of our system. As a Senior Team Lead – Electrical Engineering, you will drive the development of our next-generation quadruped robots designed for explosion-proof environments. In this role, you’ll build and inspire a high-performing engineering team, drive innovative solutions, and directly influence the robustness, reliability, and impact of our products.
You’ll work closely with R&D experts, bringing your electrical expertise and industrial experience to advance our robotic systems, implement new design approaches, and strengthen our product care capabilities. Market & Our Technology
ANYbotics transforms industrial plants in the energy, process, and utility sector by introducing robotics to a wide range of novel applications that so far were beyond reach. Our customers are large asset operators and industrial service providers pioneering the use of robotics technology for inspection and maintenance. Our mobile robot ANYmal uses legs for extreme mobility in complex environments, camera- and LIDAR-based sensing for full autonomy and obstacle avoidance, and AI for high-quality and consistent inspection results. We develop numerous customized hardware systems, including the entire robotic platform, actuators, sensors, inspection payloads, charging systems, and all related ANYbotics mechanical hardware.
Your Contributions
- Lead and grow the Electrical Engineering team, mentoring engineers and driving high performance
- Oversee the design of complex, explosion-proof, safety critical electronic systems for our robotic products
- Oversee the design of PCB testers to ensure high quality and yield in production.
- Define team development plans, allocate resources, and support individual career progression
- Review and release technical documentation, including schematics, PCB layouts, reports, and specifications, following electrical design standards
- Ensure robust, reliable, and cost-effective designs through structured development and stage-gate processes
- Develop and implement engineering processes and tools to improve efficiency, quality, and collaboration across the team and between departments
- Drive product care, field inspections, and lifecycle improvements
- Maintain clear, high-quality documentation, including assembly, service, and user manuals
Your Profile
- University degree in Electrical Engineering
- 5+ years of industrial experience, with proven success leading electrical engineering teams
- Hands-on experience in product development, validation, and testing
- Experience on power electronics and high speed interfaces
- Proficiency in electrical engineering tools (KiCAD, Altium, or similar) & workflows incl. PCB design & layout, signal integrity, EMI/EMC, and component selection
- Excellent coaching, mentoring, and communication skills
- Team-oriented, proactive, and driven to foster innovation, technical excellence, and collaboration
Bonus Points
- Explosion-proof design experience (ATEX, IECEx)
- Experience in Functional Safety designs
- Experience in Electrical Safety designs
- Experience in design for EMC requirements and verifications
- Experience with control systems and electric drives for complex mechatronic systems
