Your daily workout
EGYM is building the world’s best fitness platform — and we’re looking for a (Senior) Legal Counsel (Data Privacy & IT Law) in our Munich Headquarter who is a strategic partner to our Product, Engineering, Go-To-Market, and Leadership teams. In this role, you will reinforce our commitment to safeguarding sensitive information and maintaining compliance with data protection regulations — while enabling innovation and speed. You will own data privacy for EGYM, negotiate and standardize SaaS/IT contracts (including DPAs, joint-controller, and C2C agreements), translate complex legal frameworks into pragmatic business solutions, and coordinate our network of global and regional legal experts. Your work will blend strategic guidance, hands-on execution, and cross-functional collaboration to keep EGYM both compliant and competitive. Ready to shape the future of data privacy and IT law at EGYM? Apply now and become part of our journey!

  • Privacy Leadership: You drive and evolve our privacy framework, maintain processing records, conduct Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) and Third-Party Transfer Impact Assessment (TTIAs), and ensure strong compliance across products and regions.
  • Operational Excellence: You simplify, standardize, and continuously improve privacy operations in close partnership with the Product, Technology, and InfoSec team.
  • Training & Awareness: You design and deliver targeted training to internal teams, building a culture of privacy awareness and compliance.
  • Contracting: You review, draft, and negotiate IT/SaaS contracts, DPAs, Joint Controller Agreements, and C2C agreements—creating and maintaining lean, business-friendly templates.
  • Coordination: You manage and align the work of global and regional legal experts, ensuring consistent guidance and efficient execution across jurisdictions.
  • Advisory Partner: You act as a trusted partner to product and tech teams—embedding early in feature development, go-lives, and international rollouts to spot risks and find solutions.
  • Scaling: You lead or contribute to cross-functional and global projects, aligning stakeholders on priorities, goals, and expectations.
Your fitness level
  • Qualification: You are a fully qualified lawyer (2. Staatsexamen or equivalent in other jurisdiction - additional qualifications as LL.M or Dr.iur a plus but not a must).
  • Experience: You hold 3+ years in privacy and IT/commercial law as well as strong experience with SaaS/IT contracts and data protection agreements in a reputable law firm or in-house (ideally in a digital-first or tech-focused organization).
  • Mindset: You are business-oriented, pragmatic, and collaborative plus capable of prioritizing according to business risk and value.
  • Skills: You possess strong drafting and negotiation skills while being able to translate legal requirements into clear operational actions.
  • Languages: You are fluent in English (legal terminology) and professional in German.
  • Bonus: You have knowledge of emerging digital regulations (e.g., AI Act, NIS2, DORA) as a plus.
Your training goal for your first 6 months
  • Visibility & Inventory: You establish a clear, living overview of our privacy landscape and key risks - focusing on the areas most critical to our products and markets.
  • Tooling & Templates: You deliver a lean privacy ops toolkit (ROPA/DPIA templates, consent patterns, vendor assessment process) and refresh core contract templates.
  • Enablement: You become the go-to partner for Product and Technology - embedded in product launches and international rollouts.
  • Coordination: You build an effective collaboration model with global/regional legal experts, including streamlined intake and alignment processes.
  • Execution: You close your first set of strategic IT/SaaS deals while balancing compliance, speed, and business needs.
