Join our Localization team, where we are on a mission to enable non-English speaking users to thrive on GetYourGuide and unlock the world’s most unforgettable travel experiences without language and cultural barriers. We are looking for a Senior Language Specialist to help us deliver an authentic localized experience to our Italian-speaking users. This multifaceted role bridges the worlds of linguistics and project management, presenting a distinctive career path for you to establish yourself as an expert in the field of localization. Your work involves hands-on language tasks, spearheading impactful initiatives, and collaborating with the rest of the Localization team and stakeholders across the business. This is a full-time role at our Berlin office.

You will:

• Transcreate English content into Italian for our app, website, ads, brand, and marketing content (did we mention the topic is travel experiences?)
• Initiate and own projects that address localization processes, issues, or opportunities within topics such as user testing, AI in UX, A/B testing, or internationalization – the sky’s the limit
• Perform linguistic and functional QA on Italian content to ensure a high-quality localized experience
• Provide linguistic and cultural expertise in cross-departmental collaborations to shape and inform localization practices
• Provide regular updates on your work to team members and stakeholders to share wins, learnings, and feedback
• Review and assess the quality of key content produced by freelance linguists and AI
• Own and maintain tone-of-voice guidelines, style guides, and glossaries to ensure consistency in Italian content

Who you are:

• Native Italian linguist with an excellent command of English and experience in transcreating content from English into Italian
• Proficient in UI localization
• Proactive attitude and ambition to contribute beyond transcreating content
• Proven capabilities of ownership and contributions to the localization/business agenda
• Excellent communicator with the ability to work in an agile environment and build trust with colleagues
• Experienced with scalable localization infrastructures, ideally in the travel/e-commerce space
