We help manufacturers improve shop floor workers’ quality of life, increase production capacity, and reduce scrap, repair, and rework costs. As a Mechanical Design Intern you will join our Design Team to collaborate with our engineering team onsite in our Gardena, CA office to support the design process from concept to implementation while learning and contributing to the engineering team's objectives.collaborative environment.

Role & Responsibilities

• Supporting engineers or designers in creating, modifying, and refining mechanical designs using software like CAD (Computer-Aided Design).
• Creating 2D drawings and 3D models of mechanical components or systems based on specifications provided by the engineering team.
• Assisting in the development and testing of prototypes, which may involve assembling components, conducting measurements, and documenting results.
• Collaborate cross functionally with internal teams to improve product designs
• Develop and/or review designs
• Prototype hardware considering design for manufacturability (DFM) using 3D Printing and/or CNC machines where appropriate

Minimum Quals

• Experience using SolidWorks
• Experience working with 3D Printers
• Experience with 3D solid modeling, analysis, and development of 2D manufacturing drawings
• Proven track record of strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively across multiple teams and customers
• Ability to solve problems effectively in a collaborative environment

Preferred Quals

• Experience in prototyping
• Experience reviewing BOMs for completeness to support inventory management and system deployment
• Experience of manufacturing processes; manual machining, CNC machining, welding, sheet metal fabrication, plastic 3D prototyping
• Experience with industrial robots and 6 DOF robotic arms
• Familiar with industrial facilities and equipment

Compensation for this position includes the base hourly range of $20-$30/hr USD. The range listed on job postings reflect the minimum and maximum new hire salary across levels in Los Angeles, CA.
