Lime is the world’s largest provider of shared electric vehicles, committed to revolutionizing urban transportation. Our mission is to build a future where transportation is shared, affordable, and carbon-free. As we accelerate toward this vision, we are seeking a dynamic Brand Marketing & Public Relations Associate to join our Global Communications & Brand team. This role will lead local and regional marketing and PR efforts in Japan, helping to amplify Lime’s brand, engage key stakeholders, and position Lime as the premier shared electric vehicle provider in the market.

As Brand Marketing & PR Associate, you will be responsible for driving brand visibility, reputation, and engagement in Japan. You will develop and execute localized marketing and communication strategies that resonate with riders, policymakers, and opinion leaders, ensuring alignment with global objectives while addressing local market needs.

This is a remote Tokyo based 6 month fixed term position with the potential for extension.

What you'll do:

  • Brand Strategy Execution: Develop and implement innovative marketing strategies to grow brand awareness and positively shape public perception of Lime in Japan.

  • Localized Campaign Management: Adapt and execute global brand and communications campaigns across earned media, paid, owned, and offline channels, ensuring cultural relevance and alignment with global brand standards.

  • Media Relations: Partner with PR agencies to build strong relationships with Japanese media, securing consistent and impactful media coverage through proactive outreach and creative storytelling.

  • Project Management: Lead the localization of global campaigns, ensuring timely and on-budget execution while maintaining brand integrity.

  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with Operations and Government Relations teams to align PR and marketing initiatives with Lime’s strategic growth and policy objectives in Japan.

  • Event Support: Plan, coordinate, and support PR and marketing events that drive media engagement and enhance Lime’s public profile.

  • Performance Analysis: Monitor key performance indicators, analyze campaign results, and implement data-driven improvements to enhance effectiveness.

About you:

  • 2-3 years of experience in integrated marketing and public relations within the Japan market, preferably within an agency or a fast-paced highly matrixed, global DTC (direct-to-consumer) organization.

  • Language Skills: Fluent in Japanese (native-level) and proficient in business English.

  • Market Expertise: Proven track record of executing successful, localized marketing campaigns in Japan, with an ability to creatively adapt global messaging for local impact.

  • Media Savvy: Strong network or ability to establish relationships with local media; experience securing media coverage in consumer, business, and trade outlets.

  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with confidence in influencing stakeholders across regions and time zones.

  • Creativity: A proactive thinker, constantly generating new ideas to enhance brand storytelling and media outreach across multiple cities and topics.

  • Attention to Detail: Exceptional copy editing skills to ensure all content aligns with brand guidelines and tone.

  • Energy & Passion: High-energy, resilient under pressure, and enthusiastic about Lime’s mission and growth in the mobility sector.

  • Collaboration: Skilled at building trusted relationships across all levels of an organization.

  • Curious & Trend-Savvy: Always informed about the latest marketing trends, cultural movements, and innovations to keep Lime at the forefront of relevance.

  • Global Mindset: Capable of balancing global messaging consistency with localized, culturally nuanced communication strategies.
