Lime IT is looking for a Senior Atlassian Systems Engineer to help drive best practices, adoption, and expansion of Atlassian tools at Lime. In this role, you will own and evolve the Atlassian platform as a scalable, well architected system supporting the business, while helping Lime standardize and scale Atlassian usage across teams. You will lead platform architecture, governance, backlog execution, and major implementation work across Jira, Jira Service Management, and Confluence, including standardization efforts, migrations, and key service management use cases.
You will act as a technical leader and escalation point, partner closely with stakeholders across the company, and help translate platform strategy into durable operating practices, documentation, and long-term maintainability. The ideal candidate brings deep hands-on Atlassian expertise, strong systems thinking, and the ability to balance standardization with flexibility in a fast-moving environment.
This is a remote position with a requirement for candidates to reside in Canada to maintain effective collaboration across teams.
What You'll Do:
Own and evolve Lime’s Atlassian platform as a scalable, well architected system supporting critical business workflows.
Assess and improve platform architecture, configurations, workflows, permissions, and data structures to reduce complexity, improve usability, and enable long-term scalability.
Define and implement practical governance standards for platform structure, access management, configuration strategy, and operational best practices while balancing consistency with team flexibility and compliance requirements.
Lead hands-on engineering work across Atlassian products and connected systems, including configuration, automation, integrations, migrations, and platform optimization.
Partner with stakeholders to understand business processes, translate needs into effective system design, and guide technical tradeoffs and prioritization decisions.
Create and maintain high quality documentation, admin playbooks, runbooks, and standard patterns so the platform is easier to support and scale over time.
Act as the escalation point for complex platform issues and as a technical leader for Atlassian strategy, platform maturity, and knowledge transfer to internal partners and future team members.
Participate in the team's on-call rotation, responding to incidents, troubleshooting issues, and contributing to root cause analysis and service reliability improvements.
About You:
5+ years of experience in administering and engineering Atlassian tools in a complex Enterprise environment
Deep expertise designing, configuring, and scaling Atlassian products, with strong knowledge of platform architecture, governance, permissions, workflows, automations, and operational best practices.
Strong experience managing large scale Atlassian implementations, migrations, or standardization efforts across multiple teams or business functions.
Proven ability to architect scalable and maintainable solutions that balance business flexibility with long-term operational sustainability.
Experience designing and developing scalable integrations, automations, and workflows using APIs, scripting, and enterprise platforms.
Strong understanding of platform administration, supportability, documentation, and change management in enterprise environments.
Strong documentation and operational discipline including experience creating runbooks, playbooks, and scalable support processes.
Demonstrated technical leadership and mentorship experience, with the ability to guide platform strategy, establish best practices, and elevate the technical capabilities of others.
Ability to translate ambiguous business requirements into durable technical solutions while effectively partnering with technical and non-technical teams.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with experience partnering across IT, Engineering, Security, Operations, and business teams.
Preferred Experience:
Atlassian Cloud Professional certifications (ACP)
Experience leading AI driven initiatives, knowledge management platforms, or intelligent workflow automation.
