Opportunity
NGP Capital is seeking an Analyst/Associate to oversee portfolio data integrity, reporting, and analytics. This role is central to supporting decision-making across investment teams, finance, and LP relations. The candidate will lead portfolio valuation processes, maintain our analytics systems, and help drive insights across our portfolio. The individual will also work with the investment team on new deals and analysis for follow on rounds.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage quarterly valuations for individual portfolio companies, incorporating an understanding of the relevant supporting accounting valuation methodologies and approaches.
- Analyze monthly and quarterly performance data in collaboration with portfolio company leadership.
- Provide analytical and qualitative support for fundraising, valuations, portfolio company metrics, sale valuation analyses. Provide portfolio support to individual companies where relevant.
- Ensure accuracy and actionable insight in portfolio data, supporting investment team reviews, risk assessments, and fund performance projections.
- Review legal transaction documents to understand capital structures.
- Conduct scenario analysis and performance reviews across the portfolio.
- Support financial due diligence on new deals, follow-on investments, and Fund of Fund opportunities.
- Draft investor communications, including quarterly and annual updates.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, or a related field with a strong academic record.
- 1–5 years of professional experience in an analytical or finance-focused role.
- Proficiency in financial modeling, valuation, and data analysis (Excel, etc.).
- Solid understanding of investments, M&A, and private company valuation.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally.
- Highly organized, proactive, and capable of managing multiple priorities.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative mindset.
