Process Development Engineer, Module Integration - CH

NIL Technology is on the rise, and we are seeking to strengthen our team with a dedicated and versatile Process Developer. The ideal candidate will have an engineering background, complemented by practical experience with cleanroom equipment or extensive expertise in the field of nano- and micro-optics. As a member of the process development team, you will focus on the development of and production with new processes for our nano- and micro-optical components, as well as participate in the procurement, planning, and setup and qualification of new equipment.
Essential duties and responsibilities of the position
- Development of processes for nano- and micro-optical components
- Develop optimized processes for the precise assembly of optical modules using Pick & Place technologies and apply specialized surface treatments to enhance optical performance
- Execute small-scale production runs, including alignment and quality control of assembled modules
- Set up, calibrate, and automate assembly and manufacturing processes
- Integrate and operate 3D printing technologies
- Create assembly instructions, inspection protocols, and technical documentation
- Communicate results, challenges, and improvements openly with the team to ensure alignment and transparency
Our operations span across Europe with installations in Denmark, Sweden, and Switzerland, necessitating occasional travel. There may also be opportunities to visit our mass production facilities in Southeast Asia when relevant, though infrequent.
Your base of operations will be in Horgen, Switzerland.

Must have
- Independent and structured working style
- Basic knowledge of high-precision assembly techniques
- Technical degree in mechanical engineering, mechatronics, microsystems technology, or a related field
- Experience in wafer level technology, as well as experience in SPC is a plus
- Must be eligible to work in Switzerland
- Hands-on experience with Pick & place systems or module assembly is a plus
- Open-minded to work independently and in teams
- Structured and analytical work approach
- Excellent communication skills in English
- Flexible mindset and ability to adapt quickly to changing tasks
- Willingness to travel within Europe and occasionally to Southeast Asia
