As our new Optical Test Engineer, you will play an important role in validating and advancing NILT’s innovative optical products. This is a great opportunity to deepen your expertise in a dynamic, multidisciplinary environment at the forefront of nano- and micro-optics innovation.
Based in our modern office and cleanroom facilities in Seehallen Horgen, right next to Lake Zürich, you will join an experienced, collaborative team dedicated to building next‑generation optical modules.

Tasks and responsibilities
Test System Development
Build and maintain test systems for optical and camera module evaluation, including setup definition, integration, debugging, and performance validation.
Camera Test Capability Build-Up
Establish and further develop camera test capabilities, including methods, equipment, and workflows to support characterization and validation activities.
Pilot Line Module Testing
Perform testing and evaluation of camera modules from the pilot line, analyze results, and provide feedback to support process optimization and product maturation.
MP Tester Project Management
Define requirements and manage mass-production tester projects with external vendors, ensuring alignment on specifications, timelines, deliverables, and technical performance.
Skills, experiences and qualifications we are looking for
- MSc in Microengineering, Electronics, Optics, Photonics, Physics, or a related field
- 3+ years’ experience in optoelectronic device development (preferably consumer applications)
- Strong understanding of optics and optical systems
- Experience with optical testing
- Knowledge in test system validation
- Programming skills, ideally Python (data analysis, automation, prototyping)
- Hands‑on experience with mechanical design, 3D printing for rapid prototyping
- Independent, structured, and goal‑oriented mindset
- Strong communication skills and comfort working in a fast‑paced, multidisciplinary setup
- Fluent in English; German is a plus
