Scandit is currently seeking an experienced and entrepreneurial Sales Director to build upon an existing customer base in Japan. You will be a key part of our international sales team, selling Scandit’s disruptive software-based Mobile Barcode Scanning, Data Capture and Augmented Reality Solutions to enterprise customers. Scandit would like to transition the role from pure sales leadership to Country Management and you will be instrumental in defining and implementing this transition, to introduce more oversight cross-functionally with the local team.

Our target markets include enterprises primarily in Retail and Transport & Logistics. You are a high-performing sales management professional ideally with established networks in these verticals and motivated to join a dynamic and fast-growing tech company with a disruptive offering.

What You Will Do

  • Position Scandit as a leader for Smart Data Capture solutions in the Japanese market.
  • Lead a high-performing sales team in Japan and provide hands-on coaching, especially to the newer sales executives, to develop their skills and enable them to over exceed their goals.
  • Generate new sales opportunities in Japan by leveraging your experience and industry contacts.
  • Strategic, executive-level selling at multiple levels of decision-makers within larger, named high potential accounts.
  • Effectively utilize field marketing and business development resources to reach and identify prospects.
  • Present Scandit solutions, develop proposals and value justifications, negotiate and close deals to achieve annual sales targets.
  • Effectively use Salesforce and sales campaign tools to build and manage your sales funnel.
  • Maintain and expand your network of contacts. Provide feedback regarding regional marketing events to attend, speaking opportunities, relevant publications and thought leaders/interest groups.
  • Collaborate with Scandit sales management and marketing to ensure client satisfaction, higher conversion rates and to drive overall sales improvements.
  • Provide input to the business and product development plans to assist with the evolution of current products and the development of new ones.
  • Develop and maintain a strong working proficiency of Scandit solutions.

Who You Are

  • Minimum of 7 years technology sales experience in the enterprise space in the region and targeted industries, including sales management experience.
  • Good network of contacts to key business leaders in Japan.
  • Passionate about disruptive technologies with a good understanding of mobile applications.
  • Proven track record in achieving sales targets.
  • Experience in the Retail, Transport & Logistics industry is highly beneficial. Other relevant supply chain experience in manufacturing, healthcare, and technology would also be an advantage.
  • Excel in a fast-paced, high growth environment and able to quickly adapt to change.
  • Ambitious and ready to grow with the company to take on fresh challenges.
  • Excellent interpersonal and written/spoken communication and strong negotiation skills.
  • Strong command of English as well as experience working across cultures with multinational companies.
  • Degree educated.
