The world still has coverage blind spots. You could help eliminate them at Skylo.

Skylo has pioneered a standards-based approach to satellite connectivity. We connect smartphones and IoT devices directly to satellites. No special hardware, no entirely new networks. Just billions of existing devices, suddenly reachable anywhere on Earth. We're not building toward this future. We're already in it.

Our direct-to-device service is live on millions of activated devices across five continents, covering more than 72 million square kilometers, in partnership with leading satellite operators, mobile network operators, Tier-1 chipset makers, and OEMs worldwide. And we're just getting started.

At the heart of it all is Skylo's commercial NTN vRAN: a 3GPP standards-based, cloud-native platform that seamlessly bridges terrestrial and satellite networks. It's the infrastructure that makes true anywhere, anytime connectivity possible.

When you join Skylo, you'll work at the intersection of three markets reshaping how the world stays connected: mass-market consumer devices, automotive, and industrial IoT. Enabling people outdoors and critical workflows in the world's most remote places.

This is a rare chance to work on technology that matters, at a company that's already proving it works

This role is based in Espoo, Finland, one of the three Skylo's core engineering hubs and fastest-growing sites. You'll work onsite three days a week as part of a team that's scaling quickly.

How You Will Impact Skylo

As a Staff Test Engineer focusing on RAN, you will play a key role in the detailed testing for NR-NTN products at Skylo. You will be responsible for setting up test-benches, developing and executing test cases for NR-NTN RAN nodes in satellite radio access networks.

What you'll do

  • Analyze the use cases/requirements for NR-NTN related requests from customer and deployment engineers and convert them into test-plans.

  • Understand 3GPP standards, and system engineering documents to come up with thorough and in-depth test plans for testing NR-NTN base stations .

  • Implement end-to-end test automation to test NTN specific test cases to our internal algorithms and 3GPP standards test cases.

  • Understand existing test setup and augment it with new test tools to develop test scripts using those test tools.

  • Reproduce and test field scenarios based on feedback from Customer deployments.

  • Log analysis, Performance, Capacity and Soak testing.

  • Raising bugs and getting the issues fixed in coordination with the development team.

Sound like you? You bring:

You have a solid background in 4G-NB-IoT and 5G-NTN RAN network testing and...

  • 10+ years of experience in 4G/5G radio access wireless networking products testing. NR-NTN or Nb-NTN network side testing experience is preferred.

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.

  • Experience in UE Simulators like Keysight or Amarisoft UE Simulators is preferred.

  • Experience in creating Robot Framework test cases is preferred or similar test automation frameworks is preferred. Familiarity with scripting languages such as Python is preferred.

  • Working experience in 4G/5G base-station verification cycle by validating 3GPP protocols, call flow, end to end traffic throughput requirements.

About Skylo Technologies

Skylo Technologies is the architect of the Standardized Sky, a global approach to satellite connectivity built on shared standards rather than proprietary systems.

As a global non-terrestrial network service provider, Skylo enables mobile networks to extend seamlessly beyond terrestrial coverage by orchestrating connectivity between satellites, mobile operators, and device makers using 3GPP standards. Skylo’s platform creates a single, interoperable connectivity layer that works across networks, devices, and geographies — allowing satellite to function as a natural extension of mobile networks.

Skylo’s commercially deployed NTN service supports millions of devices across consumer, enterprise, and IoT use cases, helping ensure connectivity is reliable, efficient, and available wherever it’s needed. Skylo is headquartered in Mountain View, California
