Here at The Exploration Company, we are developing, producing, and operating Nyx, a modular and reusable space orbital vehicle that can eventually be refuelled in orbit and that can carry cargo - and potentially humans in the longer run.

The heart of a spacecraft lies in its engine, and that's why we are dedicated to developing our own cutting-edge Propulsion Systems ensuring the highest level of efficiency and reliability in our space endeavors.

We are seeking a talented CAD Engineer to join our Propulsion Systems division. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for modelling the physical architecture of components of a high-thrust Liquid Rocket Engine.

Key responsibilities:

• To build the CAD physical models of sub-systems of a high-thrust Liquid Rocket Engine using NX (Siemens CAD tool)

• To maturate the CAD models by adjusting the architecture, accommodation, structure materials and thicknesses based on the outcomes of functional and thermo-mechanical computation loops and system trade-offs

• To collaborate closely with materials and manufacturing engineers to ensure the compliance of the developed components with their operative environment and manufacturing constraints

• To ensure the configuration management of the CAD models

• To contribute to the design by sharing guidelines or orders of magnitude in order to converge on the feasibility of a solution, based on engineering feeling or simplified analytical approach

• To contribute to the design by being a driving force behind proposals and come up with new ideas

• To contribute to the improvement of CAD tools and processes

• To effectively communicate and provide recommendations through the analysis, preparation, and presentation of technical data; as well as integrating feedback from the analysis and test results into iterative design improvements

• To provide technical documentation & drawings and participate to reviews of designed systems

What we would love to see from you:

• An advanced degree in mechanical, aerospace or manufacturing engineering would be appreciated

• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a CAD Designer

• Experience with CAD software preferably with Siemens NX

• Experience in creating manufacturing drawings, especially with respect to tolerances, fits and GD&T

• Strong knowledge of aerospace vehicle design and associated challenges

• Hands-on experience is strong plus

• Experience in additive manufacturing

• Fluent in English
