Here at The Exploration Company, we are developing, producing, and operating Nyx, a modular and reusable space orbital vehicle that can eventually be refuelled in orbit and that can carry cargo - and potentially humans in the longer run.

The heart of this spacecraft lies in its propulsion system, and that's why we are dedicated to developing our own cutting-edge cryogenic propulsion systems.

We are seeking an Enclosure & Thermal Design Engineer (for Electronics Hardware) to join our Huracan propulsion team.

In this role, you will be responsible for the development and thermal simulation of the housing and heat sink of pump-drive inverters for a cryogenic rocket engine. You will also collaborate with a diverse team of engineers (e.g. power electronics, control, mechatronics) working on different topics to ensure the successful integration and operation of these elements within our cryogenic engine.

We want you to help us in our mission by supporting the inspection and further improvement of the system mentioned above.

Key responsibilities:

• Design and CAD implementation of enclosures and heatsinks for (power) electronic hardware.

• Thermal simulation, design and optimization of heat sinks and cooling system.

• Performing thermal lab tests and troubleshooting.

• Supporting electronic hardware engineers in optimizing the overall design.

• Preparing test and technical reports.

What we would love to see from you:

• Minimum of a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, or similar.

• Over 2 years of experience, preferably in aerospace, avionics, automotive or other high-reliability applications.

• Experience with Siemens NX CAD software, or similar.

• Understanding thermal management of power electronics systems.

• Positive and flexible attitude in a constantly evolving environment.

• Problem-solving and analytical skills.

• Detail-oriented and committed to maintaining high safety and quality standards.

• Fluency in English.

• Knowledge of French and/or German is a plus.

• Experience with CFD thermal simulation software (Desirable).

• Familiarity with the integration of electrical components, printed circuit boards and connectors into enclosures (Desirable).
