We're seeking a Regulatory Engineer who will support Xona's spectrum coordination with multiple federal and international entities. You will participate in ITU study groups, Regional Telecommunications Organizations, and other regulatory bodies to advance the strategy for enabling and protecting Xona's use of radio frequency spectrum and satellite orbits. You will engage with the Xona satellite and product teams, coordination teams, and legal teams to communicate spectrum and regulatory considerations as they relate to system objectives.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience in satellite regulation highly preferred

  • Experience with RNSS frequency band preferred

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in regulatory environment

  • Foundational knowledge of communications satellite architectures, link budget, orbit dynamics, and relevant regulatory bodies such as the ITU and FCC

  • Effective communicator in both written and verbal forms for policy and complex technical problems

  • Be able to quickly identify and assess tradeoffs, risks, and opportunities

  • Willingness to travel both domestically and internationally

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical, systems, or aerospace engineering

For U.S. Roles: To comply with U.S. Government space technology export regulations, applicant must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the United States (i.e. Green Card holder), or other protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3).

For U.K. Roles: To comply with U.K. regulations, this role requires Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) checks, and successful candidates must be eligible to obtain UK Security Clearance (SC).

For Canada Roles: Successful candidates must obtain and hold a security clearance at the reliability status level, and pass security assessment for the Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP) and ITAR.
